Climate change affects all territories. To better understand and adapt to it, we need to work together. In the European Union, there are around 35 territorial cooperation programmes, known as Interreg, which recognize this need. Each of the programmes offer funding opportunities for relevant public organisations, to develop and implement specific projects related to climate change. Interact has established a thematic community of programme experts working with climate change in order to enable exchange and stimulate inter-programme cooperation.
The United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP 25) will take place in Madrid, Spain from 2 to 13 December 2019, and our network will host a dedicated session named "Interreg versus Climate Change: results, challenges and opportunities" in the EU Pavillion. The session will take place from 10:30 to 12:00 and we will have representatives from a variety of Interreg programmes with a thematic focus on Climate Change. Please check the agenda here.
